To guide this reflection, we discuss discursive elaborations on gender-based violence deriving from two ambits: men convicted for violence towards women, and media discourses on feminicide and hate crimes against LGBT people, both in the context of Colima. En los resultados se identifican dos estrategias discursivas sobresalientes que contribuyen a re-producir formas de discriminación y violencia hacia personas LGBT en este contexto: una vinculada con la burla o carrilla; otra relacionada con la figura del respeto.

En este contexto, cabe preguntarse sobre la función social de estos discursos y sobre las formas de subjetividad que promueven. Asimismo, buscamos ilustrar la manera en que dichas incursiones discursivas se encuentran también presentes en el contexto mexicano.

Desde una perspectiva foucaultiana, realizamos una lectura de dicho panorama, argumentando que tales discursos pueden funcionar como mecanismos de regulación y conducción de la conducta, esto es, como formas de gubernamentalidad. Para ello, se destaca la importante influencia de la perspectiva etnometodológica como antecedente teórico central de la PD, la cual incide fuertemente en su conceptualización de lo social y en su aproximación al trabajo empírico.

En primer lugar, se caracteriza la forma en que la etnometodología se aproxima al estudio de la realidad social, enfatizando la manera en que concibe al actor, el orden y la acción social.
